The head of the PDIP faction in the DPRD DKI, Gembong Warsono, responded to the claims of the governor of DKI Jakarta, Anies Baswedan, that the floods in Jakarta dried up in 1 day. Gembong said that Anies only heard reports from his subordinates.
“Yes, perhaps Mr. Anies only listened to reports from his subordinates,” Gembong told reporters on Sunday (2/21/2021).
Gembong thought that Anies should have registered directly in the field. In the countryside, he said, the truth is that until the third day there are still areas in DKI where the floods have not receded.
“The fact that today (Sunday) is still flooded,” Gembong said.
Gembong said the DKI Jakarta provincial government was unable to prevent the floods this year. Because, he said, the flood this time has caused victims.
“Yes, perhaps the provincial government anticipated it, but did not take the precautions. Because this flood has claimed lives,” he said.
Previously reported, DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan admitted that he had anticipated the possibility of extreme rains flooding the capital. Anies said his staff’s alertness caused some puddles to dry up in one day.
