jpnn.com, JAKARTA – Governor Anies Baswedan is considered to have neglected the safety of Jakarta provincial government officials and the public by bringing the body of the late Regional Secretary Saefullah to City Hall on Wednesday (9/16). The reason is that Saefullah died of COVID-19.

FAKTA President Azaz Tigor Nainggolan said that according to protocol, the bodies of COVID-19 patients must be buried immediately. Because of this, Anies’s action was clearly a violation of protocol.

“If you really want to pay your last respects, why not Anies Baswedan as governor of Jakarta, who went to the body of the deceased in hospital,” Tigor said in his written statement on Thursday (9/17).

According to Tigor, the health protocol was made to prevent the transmission of COVID-19 from the corpse. Meanwhile, Anies’ latest tribute event actually sparked a crowd at City Hall.

Therefore, he continued, Anies’ action clearly has the potential to give birth to a new cluster of COVID-19.

“The way Anies Baswedan asked to bring Saefullah’s body reflects the arrogance of a superior towards his subordinates,” he said.

This incident, Tigor added, also showed that Anies Baswedan did not care about the health conditions of Jakarta residents.

“Anies Baswedan, as governor of Jakarta, has only made the Covid 19 pandemic a scenario of power and arrogance, as well as a scenario for image creation,” he said.
