Andi Arief recalled that Syahganda Nainggolan and Jumhur Hidayat had contributed to the struggle for reform.

“It saddens me and I cry to see Syahganda and Jumhur Hidayat and friends portrayed in public as terrorists. They both have their services in the fight for reform. The ITE Act is not appropriate to be treated like this, not even the case is properly suspected.” Andi Arief said.

Through social networks, Andi Arief, who from the beginning harshly criticized the ratification of the Copyright Law and the actions of the apparatus in dealing with the people of the demonstration, demanded that the omnibus law be canceled and that the detained activists are released immediately.

According to him, the country should focus on handling the Covid-19 pandemic and the economic recession, which are one of the root causes of the problem.

“The essence of the main problem in recent months is the pandemic and the recession, which require broad support from the people,” said Anfi Arief.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigation of the National Police for Cyber ​​Crimes has cited three activists as suspects for violating the ITE Law. The three are Syahganda Nainggolan, Jumhur Hidayat, and Anton Permana.

The head of the Divhumas National Police Public Information Office, Brigadier General Awi Setiyono, stressed that “he has been arrested. His name has been arrested, he has become a suspect.”

Previously, the police arrested eight activists, namely Juliana, Devi, Wahyu Rasari Putri, Khairi Amri, Kingkin Anida, Anton Permana, Syahganda Nainggolan and Jumhur Hidayat. They were arrested in Medan (North Sumatra), Jakarta, Depok and South Tangerang between October 9 and 13, 2020.

Later, five activists, namely Juliana, Devi, Wahyu Rasari Putri and US President Medan Khairi Amri and former PKS candidate Kingkin Anida were first named as suspects regarding the spread of hoaxes. that triggered demonstrations against the Employment Creation Law.

Suspects charged under article 45 A, paragraph 2 of the Law of the Republic of Indonesia number 19 of 2014 on ITE and / or article 160 of the Penal Code on sedition. The suspects also face up to 6 years in prison and a fine of 1 billion rupees.
