Jakarta, CNN Indonesia –

The unpublished results of the 2020 US presidential election have residents anxiously awaiting the name of the new president.

American residents have waited three days since the vote. However, the results have not been announced because they are still waiting for the vote count in various states.

The state of Georgia is even planning a recount.

Voters on both sides had been staying up late, getting up early, praying, waiting, watching the tally on television unchanged in the last few hours.

“I kept watching the events on television. I only slept four hours,” said Rosemary Gabriel, a resident of Atlanta.

Joel Medina of Rowlett, Texas, also felt anxious, who for the first time in 44 years of his life voted in the election.

Earlier this week, he voted for the incumbent, Donald Trump.

“I feel like something has been taken from me,” he said.

As the New York Times reported, Louisville Biden supporter Shanna Davidson said she was relieved to have voted for the Democratic presidential candidate even though she now had to be anxious about the results.

“I almost had a nervous breakdown,” Shanna said.

On the other hand, Dolores Selico from Los Angeles who gave her voice to Joe Biden revealed that she was only praying and stated that what would happen was the will of God.

According to preliminary results as of Saturday (July 11) Indonesian time morning, Biden continues to lead the 2020 US presidential election.

Biden, who currently has 253 electoral votes, only needs at least 17 additional electoral votes to reach a winning mark of 270.

This caused some of his followers to start celebrating. One of them is Susan Macovsky from Pennsylvania, who has started buying drinks to celebrate this.

So have several residents, including Bernadette Golarz, who have been throwing parties and dancing in front of the Pennsylvania Convention Center.

Pennsylvania is one of the most anticipated states right now because it can determine the victory of one of the candidates.

Also, the gap between Biden and Trump, who had controlled Pennsylvania, narrowed further after the mail-in vote counting began.

Pennsylvania has a quota of 20 electoral votes. Meanwhile, Biden currently only needs 17 electoral votes to win the 2020 election.

Meanwhile, Trump won 213 electoral votes with votes in Alaska and North Carolina.
