Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) decided to make the Covid-19 vaccine free for all Indonesians. Unfortunately, not everyone can get vaccinated.

The Covid-19 Vaccination spokesperson of the Ministry of Health, Siti Nadia Tarmizi, said that according to the president’s instructions, vaccination is free. However, those who are entitled to the vaccine are healthy people and only those between 18 and 59 years old.

“The conditions for everyone who is vaccinated, first, of course, must be healthy, it is impossible for the sick to be vaccinated,” he said at a digital press conference on Friday (12/18/2020).

“Second, age. Those vaccinated are between 18 and 59 years old,” said Nadia.

In addition to eliminating the vaccines, President Joko Widodo said he would be the first recipient of the Covid-19 vaccine to obtain an emergency use permit from the BPOM.

Currently, Indonesia has brought 1.2 million doses of the vaccine belonging to Sinovac and is awaiting approval from the BPOM. The remaining 1.8 million doses of the vaccine, so Sinovac will come again this month.

The BUMN Ministry said it had obtained 155 million doses of vaccine. The rest is being worked on. The government plans to vaccinate 182 million Indonesians.

To point out, Health Minister Terawan Agus Putranto explained that the government has determined 6 types of Covid-19 vaccines for use in Indonesia. All six vaccines are produced by PT Bio Farma (Persero), AstraZeneca, and China National Pharmaceutical Group Corporation (Sinopharm).

Also, the covid-19 vaccine manufactured by Moderna, Pfizer Inc and BioNtech, and Sinovac Biotech. This decision is contained in the Decree of the Ministry of Health Number HK.01.07 / Menkes / 9860/2020 on the Determination of Types of Vaccines for the Implementation of Covid-19 Vaccines.
