President Commissioner PT Pertamine (Persero) Basuki Tjahaja Purnama aka Oh, okay stated that one of the causes of the fire at the Balongan refinery in Indramayu, West Java, was a leak in the tank. Currently, the company is still investigating the cause of the tank leak.
Ahok admitted that he did not know the reason why the tank leak safety was carried out too late. Investigations are currently underway.

For information, the fire at the Balongan refinery occurred on Monday (3/29). The fire just went out on Wednesday (3/31) morning.
However, on Friday (2/4), the West Java Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) stated that two hot spots on the T 301 F and T T301 G tanks had re-ignited.
The head of the West Java BPBD Emergency Section Hadi Rahmat said that on Thursday (1/4) at 20.30 WIB, the T 301 F tank, which in the afternoon had started to shrink, could not be turned off .
While the tank T 301 G that on Wednesday (31/3) went out, last night it went out again.
“So there are still 2 flashpoints that are still in the process of extinction,” Hadi said in a written statement on Friday (2/4).
This fire left 30 people with minor injuries. Later, six people were seriously injured and 932 residents were displaced.
