Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – North Korean leader Kim Jong Un visited the area affected by Typhoon Maysak in the coastal areas of North and South Hamgyong provinces on Saturday local time (5/9/2020).
During his visit, Jong Un fired the party chairman in southern Hanggyong province for failing to protect the population from the typhoon and ordered no fewer than 12,000 core party members to recover the region from the aftermath of the disaster.

Kim analyzed the damage caused by a typhoon that hit coastal areas last week. More than 1,000 houses were destroyed in the coastal area, agricultural land and several public buildings have been submerged.
He also immediately chaired a policy executive committee meeting on recovery efforts in typhoon-hit areas, focusing on strategic measures such as dispatching construction workers to the region with the design and delivery of materials.
