YAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The first McDonald’s store in Indonesia, located in SarinahThamrin, will officially close today, Sunday (05/10/2020).

Cabin fast food which opened almost 30 years ago has many memories for its customers.

At exactly 10:05 pm tonight, McDonald’s Sarinah will close its doors to its customers.

“For 30 years in Sarinah, at the request of Sarinah’s management, we will reluctantly close our doors from Sunday, May 10, 2020 at 10.05pm,” McDonald’s wrote on his official Instagram account.

McDonald’s first opened in Sarinah Thamrin on February 14, 1991 and became the first McDonald’s restaurant in Indonesia. Having left Sarinah Thamrin in 2009, McDonald managed to return to Sarinah Thamrin in 2011 through a bidding process.

Sarinah’s Renewal

Sarinah’s Chief Executive Officer, Gusti Ngurah Putu Sugiarta Yasa, said: PT Sarinah (Persero) or Sarinah’s shopping center, Thamrin Jakarta will carry out renovations and change its business strategy.

Michael explained that his group now started looking for the right place again to rebuild the place to eat.

As an alternative due to the closure of McD Sarinah, consumers can visit nearby restaurants such as McDonald’s Hayam Wuruk, McDonald’s Raden Saleh, McDonald’s Cideng and McDonald’s Central Plaza.
