Jakarta, CNN Indonesia –

Minister PUPR Basuki Hadimuljono declared that he would collaborate with the Commission for the Eradication of Corruption (NCP) to help you control your capital expenditures infrastructure.

He considered that the direct supervision of the KPK was needed because the budget that the Ministry received from the PUPR for the acquisition of goods and services was quite large. This PUPR-KPK collaboration will later be included in a memorandum of understanding (Memorandum of understanding/ MoU).

“(KPK) is ready to help us. We have 34 centers, there is also a Working Group, the KPK Regional Office. The Director General (PUPR) will make the MoU go ahead,” he said at the opening of Infrastructure Week. from Indonesia on Tuesday (11/24).

Basuki revealed that the PUPR Ministry has 34 centers, 800 work units and about 3,000 work groups, so internally it is difficult to supervise all the individuals in the Ministry.

Even from value, PUPR received a fantastic budget ceiling. By 2021, the PUPR is projected to receive a total cap of nearly 150 trillion IDR. It is understandable if Basuki wanted the budget expenditures of his subordinates to be supervised by the KPK.

Although he indirectly hinted at the potential for budget fraud within his ministry, Basuki was reluctant to elaborate further.

“I think for sure or maybe someone wants to do something, although we always say in prayer that we do not think or do anything wrong by spending this state money,” Basuki said.

In addition to working with the KPK, Basuki also said that he instructed his subordinates to learn from the Ministry of Education and Culture (Kemendikbud), which received an award from the Government Procurement Policy Institute (LKPP) for innovation in transparent procurement.

He admitted that he did his best to continue to promote transparency in budget spending at PUPR to minimize opportunities for fraud.
