KOMPAS.com – A 6-year-old boy was killed when a car collided with the convenience store.
His life could not be avoided when he was about to be rushed to the hospital.
Several employees of the mini-market in Jalan Mensiku, Sintang District, Sintang District, West Kalimantan also suffered injuries due to colliding with the counter.
The incident that occurred on Saturday (3/13/2021) around 8:33 p.m. WIB involved a 15-year-old teenager. He’s the driver of the car that hit the convenience store.
“The accident is believed to have been caused by the negligence of the car driver who wanted to turn around after shopping,” said Iptu Hariyanto, head of Public Relations for the Sintang Police, when contacted. Kompas.com, Sunday (3/14/2021).

The incident happened quickly
An eyewitness, Anita Diana, said there were about 10 people who were in the convenience store that night.
Anita, who entered the convenience store with her two children, said the incident happened quickly.
When I was selecting an item, a loud screeching of a car was heard from outside.
Suddenly the car crashed into the glass door until it shattered and hit the cash register.
The lights in the store suddenly went out.

Previously, he saw that there were about seven people who were near the checkout table, including a six-year-old boy who was killed.
“The child fits under the car. As soon as my husband found out that there was a small child, the car was immediately rushed to help the child, but unfortunately the child could no longer be saved,” said Anita, quoted by TribunSintang.
Anita and her two children survived, although there were minor injuries. However, he admitted to being traumatized by the incident.

Starting to want to turn the car
Hariyanto said the driver plans to pull his car out of the parking lot.
The blue car was walking slowly.
Supposedly because he was negligent, the teenager stepped on the gas.
The car drove, then crashed into the convenience store windshield, and even broke into the building.
Broken glass scattered, as well as objects in the minimarket.
Unfortunately, when the incident occurred, the 6-year-old was in front of the cashier.

“The victim was seriously injured and was rushed to hospital. However, he died while on his way to the hospital,” Hariyanto said.
He said that the police had taken care of this case.
“Currently, the case has been handled by the Sintang Police Traffic Police. The car and driver have also been secured,” he explained.
