A truck crashes into the madrassa as students recite the Quran, 3 people are killed, another 8 and most of the children are injured.

KOMPAS.com – The truck crashed into a madrasa in Harendong Village, Garut, West Java, on Friday (2/4/2021).

The incident resulted in three deaths, namely the driver of a Mitsubishi truck with police number Z8229DW on behalf of Suhanda (50), a resident of Sukawening district, Garut, and two students.

Aside from the death toll, the truck accident left eight injured, mostly children.

The truck was coming from the direction of Kampung Nangoh towards Kampung Haredong with a straight downhill road condition.

The truck he was driving on the descent, he said, was suspected of having experienced braking problems and eventually crashed into the Nurul Barokah Foundation building, which is located around the village road.

“When crossing the road downhill, it is suspected that the brakes failed and thus collided with the Nurul Barokah Foundation,” he said.

The Laka Unit police and then the Garut Police immediately proceeded to the scene of the case, after evacuating all the accident victims.

The victims and the injured were immediately taken to hospital for treatment.

The witness to the incident, Saeful Wahid (21), explained that the truck was heading from Kampung Nangoh to Kampung Harendong with a downhill road.

“The truck left Nangoh Village based on the position of the road, I saw that the truck was indeed in a dead engine condition,” he said, quoted by Antara. West Java Tribune.

He said that the madrasa was full of students who recited the Quran every day.

“When the students were studying the Qur’an, the truck immediately arrived at the madrasa,” he said.

Saeful saw the students lying down and some were unconscious.

“Some of the students were unconscious, others were pinched,” he said.
