KOMPAS.com – The terror committed by the armed criminal groups (KKB) in Papua remains a task for law enforcement officials.
The reason is that the actions they are taking are known to be increasingly violent. The victims were not only from civil society, but also from the security forces.
Finally, a group of TNI agents heading to transportation logistics were attacked while crossing Serambakon district, Pegunungan Bintang Regency, on Tuesday (10/20/2020).
As a result of the incident, three soldiers had to be rushed to the Oksibil hospital because they suffered gunshot wounds.
According to the information collected, the perpetrators of the shooting were members of the KKB led by Lamek Taplo.

In the attack, it is known that around 10 members of the KKB were involved and all used rifles.
Although at the time of the incident there was a shootout with TNI agents, it was known that they managed to escape by entering the forest.
Where do the KKB weapons come from?
To investigate the KKB terrorism case in Papua, TNI and Polri not only deployed troops to hunt down and arrest the perpetrators.
Several other efforts were also made, one of which was to investigate the supplier of these firearms.

Individual Brimob members were arrested
Papua Police Chief Inspector General Paulus Waterpauw said a Brimob member with the initials Bripka JH was seized by a joint TNI and Polri team on Thursday (10/21/2020).
The arrest was made because he was suspected of being involved in the sale and purchase of illegal firearms in Papua.
Paulus suspected that the KKB would use the traded weapons to disrupt community security.
“It is true that the joint team succeeded in thwarting the sale and purchase of firearms involving members of Brimob, namely Bripka JH, and is currently detained in Jayapura,” he said, quoted by Antara. Between, Friday (10/23/2020).
From that hand, his group managed to secure two assault rifles of the M-16 and M4 types that would be marketed.

So far, he has not been able to explain where the weapon came from. The reason is that the investigation is still ongoing.
However, it is alleged that the author has repeatedly directed the illegal arms buying and selling business to the KKB.
“According to the confession of his colleague who is the intermediary, there have been six times the activity of buying and selling firearms,” he said.
TNI members are fired and jailed for life
In the case of the purchase and sale of illegal firearms to the KKB in Papua, not only police officers intervened, but also TNI agents.
Previously, one of the members of the Indonesian Army who was arrested and sentenced was Pratu Demisla Arista Tefbana (28).
In a trial conducted by the Jayapura Mahmil III-19 Military Tribunal on Thursday (12/3/2020), Pratu Demisla was sentenced to life imprisonment and removed from military service in the TNI AD.
Senior Judge Chk Dendy said that during the trial, Pratu Demisla was found guilty and admitted to supplying the KKB with firearms and ammunition through Moses Gwijangge.

The price of the ammunition was sold for 100,000 rupees per item, while the senpi was sold for 50 million rupees.

3 unscrupulous members of TNI found guilty
Earlier on Tuesday (11/2/2020), Mahmil III-19 Jayapura also handed down guilty verdicts to three unscrupulous members of the Indonesian military.
Among them are Second Sergeant Wahyu Insyafiadi, First Private Okto Maure, and First Private Elias K Waromi.
In this openly held military trial, it was shown that they sold 13,431 rounds of ammunition to the KKB.
As a result of the actions committed, each one was imposed a different sentence according to their role.
Second Sergeant Wahyu Insyafiadi was sentenced to life imprisonment, First Private Okto Maure was sentenced to 15 years in prison and First Private Elias K Waromi was sentenced to 2.5 years in prison with reduced prison terms.
