The security forces did not close down and diverted the flow of traffic around the Horse Statue and the Monas crossing. Traffic flows in Jalan Medan Merdeka Barat and Selatan also remain open to vehicles.

On this occasion, a collective labor action was held to protest the ratification of the Omnibus Employment Creation Law. The action coordinator, Edi Kuncoro, said that around 100 workers will participate in the demonstration today.

“Our demands continue to reject the Omnibus Law until it is canceled. The maximum action is 100 people from various regions. We will follow the health protocol. But never forbid us to go out,” Edi said.

Earlier, the president of the Indonesian Trade Union Confederation (KSPI), Said Iqbal, announced that the labor demonstrations would be held simultaneously in 18 cities. In Jakarta, the action is scheduled to take place in front of the Constitutional Court (MK) building.

In addition to the live action on the ground, the demonstrations will also take place virtually via platform Facebook and Instagram.

Other areas that will participate directly in the action are Bekasi, Karawang, Bandung, Gorontalo, North Sulawesi, Central Java, East Java, Aceh, North Sumatra, Riau Islands, Batam, Riau, Lampung, Bengkulu, Central Kalimantan, South Kalimantan, South Sulawesi . and West Sulawesi.
