“The terrorist group and the leaders and perpetrators of this cowardly attempt must know that severe revenge awaits them,” he tweeted, as quoted by Al Araby of the official Iranian news agency, IRNA, on Saturday (11/28/2020) .
Bagheri called Mohsen Fakhrizadeh’s death a harsh and bitter blow.
“We assure them (the Iranians) that we will not rest until we prosecute and punish those involved,” he stressed.
The tweet came shortly after Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said on Twitter that there were serious indications of an Israeli role in Fakhrizadeh’s assassination.
“Terrorists killed a prominent Iranian scientist today. This cowardice, with a serious indication of Israel’s role, shows the desperate incitement to war of the perpetrators,” Zarif said.
He also called on the international community to end its shameful double standards and condemn Israel’s acts of terror.
