Several companies implement a work-from-home policy (Work from home/ WFH). Those who previously worked from the office must now work from home.
Working from home undoubtedly impacts the increase in electricity consumption. Those who are FMH or not complain that the electricity bill is bloated.
Many are unsure of the PLN’s track record of using its kWh, which has skyrocketed to three times more than it used to be.
So what is the cause of an increase in electricity use?
Energy watcher Fabby Tumiwa said there were at least a number of causes for rising electricity bills to occur. One of the main causes is an increase in electricity consumption that is not carried out by the community itself.

The highest electricity consumption consumes energy, one of which is the use of water pumps. The community tends not to notice that there is an increase in the use of water pumps during the WFH.
“The community is not aware that it consumes a lot of electricity and still considers that its use of electricity is normal. For example, water pumps work more because more water is used for washing hands, cooking, etc. We are not aware that these activities cause an increase in the work of the water pump. ” The fairly large electricity consumption may be 10-20% of the electricity consumption in the home, “he continued.
