COVID-19 reference hospital in Surabaya Raya “overloaded”

Surabaya (ANTARA) – All referral hospitals for patients with coronavirus (COVID-19) in the Greater Surabaya area, which includes the city of Surabaya, Sidoarjo Regency and Gresik have already overload or exceed capacity, said the official in question.

Registered in the city of Surabaya, there are 20 referral hospitals established by the Provincial Government of East Java to care for patients with COVID-19. It includes Dr. Soetomo Regional General Hospital (RSUD) as the main referral hospital.

Other reference hospitals in Surabaya are Saint Vincentius Paulo Hospital (RKZ), Adi Husada Undaan Wetan Hospital, Primasatya Husada Citra Hospital (PHC), Bhakti Dharma Husada Hospital, Islam Jemursari Hospital, Siloam Hospital, Haji Hospital Surabaya, Premier Hospital, Husada Utama Hospital, HS Samayeri Mertojoso Level II Bhayangkara Hospital and Manyar Hospital Medical Center.

In addition to that, Airlangga University Hospital, National Hospital, Royal Hospital, Brawijaya Level III Hospital, Dr. Ramelan Hospital, Menur Mental Hospital, Surabaya Lung Hospital and Dr. Mohammad Soewandhie Regional Hospital.

At Sidoarjo Regency there are five reference hospitals, namely the Sidoarjo Regency Hospital, the Islamic Siti Hajar Hospital, the Mitra Waru Family Hospital, the Siti Khodijah Sepanjang Hospital and the Anwar Medika General Hospital. In the Gresik district there is only one referral hospital, namely the Ibnu Sina Regional Hospital.

Dr. Joni revealed that 403 beds were available in all the referral hospitals in the city of Surabaya, but there are currently 798 positive and PDP-positive patients, meaning that overload 395 patients.

There are 160 beds available in all the referral hospitals at Sidoarjo Regency, but there are currently 212 positive or PDP patients, or already overload 62 patients.

While in the Gresik district referral hospital there are 24 beds available, but 121 patients have been positive and full of PDP, which means overload up to 97 patients. .

While so far the number of confirmed COVID-19 positive patients in the city of Surabaya was 554, and 1,209 PDP and 2,649 ODP. In Sidoarjo, the Regency registered 119 positive patients with COVID-19, 204 PDP and 750 ODP, and in District 32 of Gresik positive, 150 PDP and 1,121 ODP.

“To anticipate if everyone needs treatment and should be admitted to the hospital, we are preparing a new room with a capacity of 200 bed at the Airlangga University Hospital in Surabaya. In addition, we also established an emergency hospital with a capacity of 500 bed at the Humanities Research and Development Center of the Jalan Indrapura Surabaya Center.
