JAKARTA – The Moeldoko camp through its spokesperson, Muhammad Rahmad, proposed that the general chairman of the Democratic Party, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY), be a candidate for governor of DKI Jakarta in 2024.

Moeldoko’s camp argued that AHY’s proposed nomination to become the Jakarta Cagub was to test his eligibility against incumbent Anies Baswedan. Also read: On the crowd of Habib Rizieq, Anies and the artist, Ustaz Tengku: Buzzer Yoke Jengkol Yes?

Indonesia Political Review (IPR) Executive Director Ujang Komarudin assessed the Moeldoko camp proposal as a form of innuendo for AHY. “Those are buy and sell statements that are hinting at each other. When the AHY camp wanted to nominate Moeldoko as Jakarta Cagub, they hinted at Moeldoko,” Ujang Komarudin told SINDOnews, Sunday (4/4/2021).

As Ujang said, Moeldoko was trying to take over the Democratic Party for Nyapres or become a candidate for the presidential election. “Of course, from the target of Nyapres, he was demoted to governor. Finally, the Moeldoko camp responded the same. AHY wanted to resign. But the governor told him. That is just a declaration of war. Insinuating each other,” said said. .

Ujang assessed that the Moeldoko camp wanted to respond to the AHY camp’s hint. “Because we know that the Moeldoko camp proposal is useless, because the Democrats currently belong to AHY,” he said.

He further said that the Moeldoko camp proposal would only be considered by AHY. “Because AHY could want to be a presidential candidate or at least a Cawapres candidate,” he concluded.
