PADANG, KOMPAS.com – The Natural Resources Conservation Agency (BKSDA) and the West Sumatra Police (West Sumatra) released six residents who were arrested in connection with the alleged torture of endangered species of hoops.
The alleged abuse of the ring was captured in a video that later went viral on social networks.
After conducting searches, the West Sumatra BKSDA and Polda arrested six suspected perpetrators.
Among them, MR (15) holding the tail of the hoop, HF (32) holding the bag, TPT (16) and JM (45) seen standing in the video, A (17) the video recorder and RM (18) who released the video.
The police released the six residents because it was not shown that they had been tortured.

“After being questioned by the BKSDA team and the West Sumatra Police, it turned out that the perpetrator suspected of torturing Simpai was not torturing him but was helping him,” said the West Sumatra BKSDA Forest Ecosystem Controller. , Ade Putra, who was contacted. Kompas.com, Sunday (4/4/2021).
According to Ade, the video that was broadcast was not intact so there was no initial and final incident.
From the test results, Ade said, it turned out that the hoop was injured because it fell from a tree.
“They intend to help him, but the rim reacts by yelling for them to laugh as if they enjoyed the incident,” Ade said.
Ade explained that in the video, the hoop fell into the water. The perpetrator then put the endangered species in a sack.
Apparently, the rare wounded animal was taken to the hermitage of Silat.
“They are students of the hermitage of silat. After being treated, Simpai was released again. It happened on January 14, 2021,” Ade said.
Earlier, a team from the Natural Resources Conservation Agency (BKSDA) and the West Sumatra Regional Police (Polda) arrested six people suspected of mistreating the ring.

The video was shot in Nagari Tambangan, X Koto District, Tanah Data Regency, West Sumatra.
Previously, the Instagram account @jakartaanimalaidnetwork shared a video showing several residents allegedly abusing a hoop.
In the video, several teenagers hurt the rare animal by pulling on its tail.
The hoop was seen screaming and then entered the river. The teens were seen laughing.
