Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – To suppress the increase in Covid-19 patients, France has implemented a blockade for the third time. On Saturday (03/04/2021), 5,273 people were in the intensive care unit (ICU) due to Covid-19, 19 more than the day before.
The government is trying to suppress the Covid-19 case by imposing curfews and regional measures.
However, beginning Saturday and for the next four weeks, schools and non-essential businesses across the country will be closed.
The number of patients in the ICU on Saturday increased even more than the day before, in five months the highest increase was 145.
French President Emmanuel Macron said he had prepared more hospital beds to treat critically ill Covid-19 patients.
He hopes to pull France out of the pandemic without imposing a blockade. According to him, the lockdown will affect the economy, which is not yet recovering from last year’s recession.
