China to import Rs 16.3 trillion worth of swallow nests from Indonesia

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – China will surely import US $ 1.13 billion worth of swallow nests from Indonesia, or the equivalent of Rs 16.3 trillion (assuming an exchange rate of Rs 14,500 to the US dollar).

This was obtained after Commerce Minister Muhammad Lutfi visited Wuyi, China on Friday (2/4/2021).

During the visit, Lutfi held several meetings, one of which was with Chinese Commerce Minister Wang Wentao.

Lutfi said that one of the main points discussed with Wang was related to increasing trade capacity between the two countries.

The governments of Indonesia and China agreed to increase the trade value between the two countries, from $ 31 billion today to $ 100 billion by 2024.

“The new goal for the next 3 years is that we will increase trade between the two countries from US $ 31 billion to US $ 100 billion by 2024,” Lutfi told a virtual press conference, reported on Saturday (3/4 / 2021).

To realize this, Indonesia and China agreed to increase the implementation of the trade cooperation agreement that has been signed since 2011.

In addition, several companies in the country Bamboo Curtain have shown their commitment to increase the commercial capacity between the two countries.

One of them is the swallow’s nest import plan worth 1.13 billion dollars that will be carried out by 5 Chinese companies.

“I can report here that it has been agreed that at least 5 companies will import swallow nests from Indonesia for more than $ 1.13 billion,” Lutfi said.

“I would like to express my gratitude to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Retno Marsudi, because with this cooperation we will improve not only the trade balance, but also the good economic relations between the two countries,” Lutfi continued.
