Papua Governor Lukas Enembe crossed the Republic of Indonesia-Papua New Guinea (RI-PNG) border via the mouse route to Port Moresby in order to receive treatment. It wasn’t until the PNG capital that Lukas Enembe was said to have been deported for illegally entering neighboring countries.

“I was wrong because I entered PNG by traditional roads or trails. But I did it because I had to, that is, for treatment and therapy due to my illness,” he said on the sidelines of an antigen test at PLBN Skouw.
It turned out that Lukas Enembe went to Papua New Guinea with two of his colleagues. Lukas Enembe’s entourage was later said to have been deported by the Papua New Guinea government for illegal entry.

“Because he entered PNG without documents, he was deported by the government of the neighboring country (PNG),” the Head of the Immigration Division of the Papua Provincial Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights Novianto Sulastono told reporters in Jayapura. .
Novianto said his group would examine Lukas Enembe. However, due to Luke’s condition being unhealthy, the exam was temporarily postponed.
“We will recognize him. Because his status is not suitable, it will be done later,” he said.
Lukas Enembe’s move to enter Papua New Guinea received illegal criticism from parliament. Senayan expressed that Lukas Enembe’s action was shameful to enter other countries by illegal means.
“Of course it must be embarrassing (Indonesia),” said RI DPR Commission II member, the PAN faction, Guspardi Gaus when contacted by detik.com.
Guspardi said it would not be good for a regional official to visit a country without a valid document. Guspardi is concerned about Lukas Enembe’s actions.
