Jakarta – Police headquarters attacker Zakiah Aini (25) turned out to have left (DO) his campus when he was in semester V. Police will explore the reasons why Zakiah dropped out.
“Later we will explore (Zakiah’s reasons for dropping out of school),” Karo Penmas, Police Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Rusdi Hartono, told reporters at Police Headquarters, South Jakarta. , on Thursday (1/4/2021).
Rusdi can only be sure that Zakiah was kicked off campus while she was still a fifth semester student. However, Rusdi continued, the police would look for the reasons why Zakiah left, even if it was related to terrorism.
“What is clear is that the fifth semester must leave campus, yes. We are investigating again, exploring the causes when the fifth semester has to leave campus, “he said.
Previously, the head of the National Police, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, explained that the author of the attack on the National Police Headquarters, Zakiah Aini (25), had attended university studies. But he did not complete his studies, also known as dropout (DO).
“This suspect, a former student from one of the campuses, withdrew during the fifth semester,” Sigit said at a press conference at the National Police Headquarters on Wednesday (3/31).
From the police investigation, the perpetrator had a radical ideology and understanding of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS). But he acts alone or like a lone wolf.
“From the profiling results in question, he is a suspected lone wolf perpetrator with radical ISIS ideology,” he said.
This was demonstrated through Zakiah Aini’s posts on social media. Less than a day before the attack, he uploaded a photo to his Instagram account.
“The person concerned has an Instagram recently created or published 21 hours ago in which there is an ISIS flag and there is an article related to the problem of how he is fighting the jihad,” he explained.
