The Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) revealed that the provincial government of DKI Jakarta has spent nearly 1 billion IDR for the Formula E event in DKI Jakarta, which was later postponed due to COVID-19. The budget is said to be paid to Formula E Operation (FEO) Ltd as the licensee.
“Based on research on financial transactions related to the implementation of Formula E, it is known that payments made to FEO have a value of GBP 53,000,000.00 or the equivalent of Rp. 983,310,000,000.00,” wrote the BPK in the Results Book of Audit of financial statements of the Provincial Government of DKI Jakarta. 2019 which has been confirmed by a member of the BPK, Achsanul Qosasi, on Monday (22/3/2021).
Detailed BPK, of the 983.31 billion rupees paid, 560.31 billion rupees was used to pay Commitment commission Formula E. Funds of more than half a trillion rupees will be paid in 2019 and 2020.

In addition, according to BPK records, the provincial government of DKI paid a bank guarantee of £ 22 million or the equivalent of Rs 423 billion. However, with respect to this Bank Guarantee, PT Jakpro has renegotiated on May 13, 2020 to FEO for withdrawals from the Bank Guarantee and this has been approved.

The withdrawal of the Bank Guarantee took place because the Formula E event was postponed due to the Corona virus (COVID-19) pandemic which is still endemic in DKI Jakarta. The DKI provincial government has requested an indefinite postponement of the Formula E event.
