The Indonesian team was expelled from All England 2021. This is the official statement of the Badminton World Federation (BWF) regarding the issuance of the Red and White representatives.

The All England 2021 event was held in Birmingham from March 17-21, 2021. Indonesia sent 12 of its top athletes to Elizabeth, who were released by PBSI on Friday (12/3/2021).

In its official statement, BWF revealed the reasons for the expulsion of all Indonesian representatives from All England 2021. The red and white entourage was said to have been exposed to COVID-19 and forced into isolation by the British government.

“The Badminton World Federation (BWF) and Badminton England can confirm that various Indonesian players and team members have been contacted by the UK government’s National Health Service (NHS) monitoring and testing service and should be isolated from righ now”. Said a statement from BWF on its official website, Thursday (3/18).

“In accordance with British government requirements, the entire team will self-isolate for 10 days from the date of the inbound flight after someone traveling on the plane tests positive for COVID-19,” he continued.

“All Indonesian players will not be able to compete in the current phase and the next round and have therefore been withdrawn from the YONEX All England Open 2021. We also regret this unfortunate consequence.”

“BWF and Badminton England will continue to follow all protocols required by the UK government and local health authorities to ensure the safety of all competitors.
