JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The president of DKI Jakarta DPRD, Prasetio Edi Marsudi, stated that he does not want to participate in the sale of shares owned by the provincial government of DKI Jakarta in the beer company PT Delta Djakarta Tbk.

The PDI-P politician admitted that he had consulted various law enforcement agencies and the Financial Services Authority (OJK) on this matter.

Prasetio said that if he participated in the approval of the sale of PT Delta shares, it was feared there would be a legal process.

Prasetio invited DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan to use his discretionary rights to sell shares owned by the provincial government of DKI Jakarta.

Prasetio said that the right to discretion or to make decisions for himself had been exercised in the era of DKI’s governor, Basuki Tjahaja Purnama, aka Ahok.

“Ahead dissolve (selling shares), the governor (Anies) has a lot of discretion, ”said Prasetio.

“Go ahead and do it, but I’m not participating,” Prasetio said.

Previously, the provincial government of DKI Jakarta had written four letters to the DKI Jakarta DPRD to discuss the sale of PT Delta’s shares.

However, so far, Prasetio has not responded to the letter sent by the provincial government of DKI Jakarta.

However, there are four factions in the DKI DPRD that support the sale of shares, namely the PAN Faction, the PKS Faction, the Golkar Faction, and the Gerindra Faction.

PT Delta Djakarta is the licensee for the production and distribution of several international beer brands.

The DKI provincial government has invested shares in PT Delta since the era of Governor Ali Sadikin’s leadership in 1970.

The average profit that PT Delta makes to the DKI provincial government is Rs 50 billion per year.

Governor Anies Baswedan later promised to sell shares in the brewing company during the 2017 DKI Pilkada campaign.

DKI Pemprov began to merge ownership of shares on behalf of DKI Pemprov and the Investment Management Board of DKI Jakarta, which reached 26.25 percent in 2019.

This effort is one of the processes leading to the sale of Delta Djakarta shares.
