JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Mubalig Ramdhan Effendi or known as Anton Medan passed away on Monday (3/15/2021).

Basuki Tjahaja Purnama aka Ahok revealed the moment he remembered with the deceased.

According to Ahok, Anton once contacted him for advice.

“He called me once to advise me on my attitude, which he thought was wrong,” Ahok said via text message. Kompas.com, Monday (3/15/2021).

Furthermore, Ahok also remembered Anton as a brave and loyal friend.

Ahok visited him after hearing the news that Anton was ill and often mentioned his name. The visit took place on Sunday (3/7/2021).

“I heard he was sick and according to his brother he often mentioned my name,” he said.

Anton Medan reportedly died at his residence in Cibinong, Bogor, West Java, on Monday afternoon.

The death of a religious leader of Chinese descent was confirmed by the president of the Chinese Islamic Association (PITI) Ipong Hembiring Putra, on Monday (3/15/2021).

According to Ipong, Anton died after battling his illness.

“Yes, it is true, due to stroke and diabetes,” Ipong said when contacted. Kompas.com.

Anton is known to be close to Ahok. Anton even had time to support Ahok at the 2017 DKI Jakarta Pilkada.

Who is Anton Medan?

Anton Medan is a former snapper-class mob who has repented and is now a speaker.

Anton, whose real name is Tan Hok Lian, was born in Tebing Tinggi, North Sumatra, on October 10, 1957.
