SUMEDANG, KOMPAS.TV – Imam, one of the survivors of the fatal Sri Padma Kecana bus accident, recounted the seconds of the accident of the bus in which he was traveling through the Tanjakan Cae ravine, Sumedang.
Passing Turuna on the slope of Cae, the car suddenly went too fast, even according to him, the driver panicked.
“Yeah … right on the downward road, right on the curve if I’m not mistaken, it’s fast. I think the driver is panicking,” Imam said when interviewed by Kompas TV (3/11).
He added that before the accident the passengers could only surrender. All the passengers panicked. Not even some of them were thrown.
“The passengers can only surrender, because it was too tight, we all panicked, I also grabbed my son and they threw me,” he explained.

Imam said that on the way home, the bus he was riding on smelled like brake lining.
When he asked the driver about the smell, the driver replied that it was a new brake lining.
“Actually, we have no problem, the car is in top condition. But somehow on the way there was a smell. I asked him, why does this car smell? The brake pads are generally new. Yes, that’s right, it means it’s okay, no problem. It feels like home, “he concluded.
As a result of this unfortunate incident, 27 people were reported to have died. Now, the Ministry of Transport is conducting an investigation into the deadly accident.
