Meghan Markle’s confession is potentially more dangerous than Princess Diana for the British Empire

LONDON, KOMPAS.com – Meghan’s very honest confession in an interview with Oprah Winfrey, perhaps more dangerous for the British Empire than Princess Diana’s interview with Martin Bashir BBC in 1995.

Princess Diana’s interview at the time sparked a monarchical crisis that took years to heal.

Launch CNN on Monday (8/3/2021), the Duchess of Sussex’s words have the potential to be even more shocking than those of the Princess of Wales because they refer to racism, which is harder for the British Empire to respond to.

Harry tells Oprah, “What I see is that history repeats itself, but perhaps much more dangerous, because this time it adds only racial”.

For Meghan, feelings of loneliness and isolation in the Kingdom made her contemplate suicide.

Then, to make matters worse, when she became pregnant in her final months, she was told that her baby would not receive a title.

Not getting that title means not getting real security either.

“Okay, he (son) has to be safe,” Meghan said.

“If you say that the titles will affect their protection, then we have not created that around us, in terms of clickbait and fodder for the tabloids,” he continued.

“You let that happen, which means our son must be safe,” he said.

Meghan later revealed that in the Kingdom there was “concern and conversation about how dark (her son’s) skin was when he was born.”

Shocked, Oprah urged the Duchess, who explained that Harry had several conversations with unidentified royals.

“It’s really hard to see fragmented conversations,” Meghan said.

Oprah asks, “If he (son) is too dark (skinned), what is the problem?”

However, Meghan did not elaborate.

“However, if you believe it, I think it feels pretty safe, which is very difficult to understand.”

Harry declined to elaborate on the details of the conversation, later during the interview simply adding that “it was awkward at the time. I was a bit surprised.”

The duke said that in fact the racial talk was not the first time this had happened, but that it had been played “from the beginning”.

“There were some very clear signs before we got married, even before we got married,” Harry said.

CNN has requested a response from the British Empire regarding the Dukes’ remarks, but there has been no response until the news is released.

But until now, many will regard any government statement as a response to accusations of institutional racism.
