Liverpool –
Liverpool lost again, now to Fulham, in the continuation of the Premier League competition. James Milner considered the Reds to be substandard.
Liverpool swallowed their sixth straight loss at Anfield on Sunday (3/7/2021). Against Fulham, Mohamed Salah and others lost 0-1, after Mario Lemina broke Alisson’s goal.
Throughout the game, Liverpool got tough. Fulham knew how to defend well, so the baseline was difficult to penetrate.
Opta noted that Liverpool can take 16 shots throughout the game. However, only three shots were aimed directly at Fulham’s goal.
Milner rate, Liverpool is performing below standard. Also, the opponent’s tactics overwhelmed the defending champion.
“Obviously it was not good enough for the standards we set. We made changes today and we really didn’t start very well,” Milner said on the club’s official website.
“They dealt their players very well in the first half, and their tactics caused us problems where we couldn’t get too close to them.
“In the second half, we had a lot of balls and maybe we had a chance to score, but we really didn’t create as many as we wanted,” Milner explained.
The defeat once again plunged Liverpool into the Premier League standings. Jurgen Klopp’s adopted sons have now dropped to eighth place with 43 points, surpassed by Tottenham Hotspur.
