JAKARTA, KOMPAS.TV– After President Jokowi revoked the annex to presidential regulation (Perpres) number 10 of 2021, one of which regulates investment in alcoholic beverages, the governor of DKI Jakarta, Anies Baswedan, was encouraged to sell shares of the beer company PT Delta Djakarta.

This encouragement was conveyed by the president of the PAN DPRD DKI faction, Bambang Kusumanto. “Pak Anies must be firm like Pak Jokowi who canceled the Presidential Decree on investment in alcohol,” Bambang said in a written statement on Tuesday (2/3/2021).

According to Bambang, his faction has pushed for the release of the shares since 2019. Support is unanimous to divert to other investments that do not generate social sentiment.

The issue of DKI Jakarta provincial government share ownership in a brewing company has become controversial. Especially since this share ownership adds to the income of APBD of Jakarta.

For example, in 2019, Jakarta received dividends of IDR 100.48 billion. Meanwhile, Governor Anies Baswedan promised to sell the shareholding on the grounds that Jakarta needs more clean water.

Meanwhile, DKI Jakarta Deputy Governor Ahmad Riza Patria said that the DKI government is still trying to sell shares of the PT Delta brewing company. “We will do our best to do the Delta shares. We will sell them again,” Riza said at the DKI City Hall on Monday (3/1/2021).
