KOMPAS.com – Aris, a client of Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI) lost 12.5 million rupees in savings.

The owner of a car buying and selling business that is domiciled in Campurrejo Village, Bojonegoro district / city, East Java, admitted that initially the money was kept in a savings account of Rp. 13 million.

The money was still in storage when you last checked your balance on Monday morning (2/22/2021).

Then on Monday night, Aris, who was only a BRI customer about two months ago, went to an ATM to transact.

At that time, it turned out that the balance in your savings account was insufficient for a withdrawal transaction.

In fact, Aris previously saw that the balance in his savings account when making transactions through an ATM in the morning was still Rp. 13 million.

“I was surprised, I didn’t feel like I had made a withdrawal, how come the savings balance suddenly decreased by Rp. 10 million”, said Aris, when contacted Kompas.com, Tuesday (23/2/2021).

Sensing there was a spasm in his savings account, Aris tried to trace it through the transaction history and report it to the BRI branch in Bojonegoro today.

When we checked the transaction history, it turned out that there were five withdrawal transactions with a face value of Rs 2.5 crore each.

Four withdrawal transactions were made around 11.00-15.00 WIB, and one more withdrawal was made the morning before he left to report to the BRI office.

“The opening balance was 13 million rupees, 10 million rupees were lost and the remaining 3 million rupees, the next morning it was reduced by another 2.5 million rupees and now there is 500,000 rupees left in a savings account.” he explained. .

Aside from Aris, it turned out that there were four other BRI clients who had a similar incident.

The Operations Deputy Manager at the BRI Bojonegoro Branch, Lusujiana, confirmed that five clients reported losing their savings when making transactions through ATMs.

This incident has been reported to central BRI and an investigation into the loss of savings of BRI customers will be carried out later.

“Yes, we have reported it and the procedures are 14 business days to know the results of the report,” Lusujiana said, confirming.

In the investigation process, BRI will also involve PT Swadharma Sarana Informatika (SSI).
