JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The government cut vacations in 2021 from 7 to 2 days.
The agreement on the joint license 2021 was decided at the Ministerial Level Coordination Meeting for the Review of the Joint License Joint Working Agreement in 2021 which was chaired by the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture (Menko PMK) Muhadjir Effendy, the Monday (2/22/2021).
“In the previous decree, there were 7 days of collective license. After a review, the joint license was reduced from 7 days to just 2 days,” Muhadjir said at the meeting, quoted in a press release.
This cut was recorded in the Joint Decree (SKB) of the Minister of Religion, the Minister of Labor and the Minister of Empowerment of State Apparatuses and Bureaucratic Reform (PANRB) Number 281 of 2021, Number 1 of 2021, Number 1 of 2021 relative Amendments to the Joint Decree of the Minister of Religion, Minister of Manpower, Ministry of Empowerment of State Apparatus and Bureaucratic Reform Number 642 of 2020, Number 4 of 2020, Number 4 of 2020 on National Holidays and Joint License in 2021.

Muhadjir explained that the joint holiday in 2021, which is shortened by 5 days, is a joint holiday under the Isra Mi’raj of Prophet Muhammad SAW on March 12.
Then date Idul Fitri 1442 Hijriah on May 17, 18, 19 and on Christmas Day 2021 on December 27.
While the permanent joint holidays are celebrated within the framework of Hari Raya Idul Fitri 1442 Hijriah on May 12 and Hari Raya Natal 2021 on December 24.
“The consideration is why it is still given one day before Eid Al-Fitr and one day before Christmas, in order to make it easier for the Police to manage community movements,” he said.
“Do not allow accumulation to happen in one day and it will be dangerous,” Muhadjir continued.

Muhadjir said the reason for reducing joint leave vacations in 2021 was also because he saw that the increase in Covid-19 had not been tilted.
Although the government has also made various efforts to reduce it.
“After long vacations, there is a tendency for Covid-19 cases to increase. The mobility of people tends to increase. Meanwhile, the vaccination program is underway,” he said.
Therefore, according to Muhadjir, the government is also reviewing collective licenses that can encourage the movement of people.
Because dense community mobility has greatly influenced the increase in Covid-19 cases.
Regarding the meeting, PMK Coordinating Minister along with Transport Minister Budi Karya Sumadi and National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo witnessed the signing of SKB.
The SKB was signed by PANRB Minister Tjahjo Kumolo, Labor Minister Ida Fauziyah, and the Minister of Religion represented by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Religion Nizar Ali.
