Chelsea draw 1-1 against Southampton in the Premier League. Callum Hudson-Odoi, became a concern because he was removed even though he had just entered as a substitute.

The Southampton vs Chelsea match in the Premier League continued in Saint Petersburg. Mary’s Stadium, Saturday (2/20/2021) afternoon WIB. Chelsea appeared dominant with possession of the ball reaching 71%.

Still, there weren’t many clean chances Chelsea could create in the first half. It was Southampton who scored the first goal in the 33rd minute through Takumi Minamino.

Early in the second half, Chelsea received a penalty after Danny Ings’ foul on Mason Mount. Mount, who progressed as an executor, was able to turn it into a goal to equalize.

These results stop Chelsea’s winning streak in the Premier League, which they previously won four times in a row. Blues are still stuck in fourth place Premier League standings while with 43 points in 25 games.

Meanwhile, Southampton ended their losing streak. Before facing Chelsea, Southampton lost in six consecutive Premier League games. They are now 13th with 30 points.

There was a moment that caught the eye, to be precise about Callum Hudson-Odoi. The Chelsea winger came in in the 46th minute or as the second half began.

Odoi replaces Tammy Abraham as the forward suffered an injury. Odoi also plays at the right post, at the level of Timo Werner and Mason Mount.

But apparently, Callum Hudson-Odoi didn’t spend long on the field. In the 76th minute or 30 minutes later, he was replaced by Hakim Ziyech.

Thomas Tuchel, Chelsea manager, spoke about this. Tuchel admitted that he was unhappy with Callum Hudson-Odoi’s performance.

“With regard to Odoi, I am not happy with his attitude, energy and counterattacks,” Tuchel was quoted as saying by the press. BBC.

“I shot him down and we demand 100%, I feel like he’s not in the right condition to help us,” he continued.

Is this a sign that Odoi can be parked from the main squad? Without a doubt, before that, Odoi was always the choice.

“It was a difficult decision but tomorrow he will definitely return to normal and he has everything. Possibly, he can play against Atlético de Madrid,” concluded Thomas Tuchel.
