jpnn.com, JAKARTA – Inspector General Karyoto, deputy for compliance with the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), admitted that he had installed a body for his main investigator, Novel Baswedan, which was reported to Bareskrim Polri.

The two-star police general admitted that he would help Novel Baswedan deal with the report.

“In principle, Novel is my member. Whatever happens, I have to help,” Karyoto said at the KPK building in South Jakarta on Monday (2/15).

The 1990 Akpol alumnus asked police to be cautious when viewing Youth, Students and Community Protection Partners (PPMK) reports against Novel for his opinion on Twitter.

Furthermore, Karyoto also believes that this mass organization has the right to report on Novela.

“However, at least, as a superior here, I hope that the Police are really wise in interpreting the reports. And if it is possible to find the best solution, I will support it,” he said.

Furthermore, Karyoto also sees that there is no friction between the KPK and the National Police regarding Novel’s statement. This is because Karyoto considered the two agencies to be friends in the fight against corruption.

“Our relationship is very good, harmonious, synergistic, and we support each other,” he said.

Novel himself, through his Twitter account, asked why the police continued to arrest Soni Ernata alias Maaheer At-Thuwailibi. Meanwhile, Maaher complained of illness.

“Innalillahi Wainnailaihi Rojiun. Ustadz Maaher died in the police detention center. In the case of humiliation, detention and later illness. Org is ill, why are they being forced to be detained? The authorities do not go too far. Especially with Ustadz. It’s not trivial, “Novel tweeted through his @nazaqistsha Twitter account on Tuesday (September 2).

Because of this comment, the KPK Principal Investigator was reported to Bareskrim Polri by the mass organizations Youth, Student and Community Protection Partners (PPMK) on Thursday (2/11). In its report, PPMK accused Novel Baswedan of spreading false news or hoaxes and provocation through social media. (tan / jpnn)
