Arsenal vs Leeds United in Week 24 of the Premier League is complete. The Gunners won 4-2 over The Peacocks, with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scoring a hat-trick.

Arsenal dominated the game against Leeds United at the Emirates Stadium in London, England on Sunday (2/14/2021). The hosts immediately scored three goals in the first half.

Two goals from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Hector Bellerin each. In the second half, Arsenal were able to score one more goal through Aubameyang, who recorded a hat-trick.

Leeds United’s two goals were scored by Pascal Struijk and Helder Costa in the second half. The 4-2 scoreline for Arsenal’s win over Leeds lasted until the game broke up.

The victory keeps Arsenal still in 10th place in the Premier League standings with 34 points from 24 games. Meanwhile, Leeds is in 11th position with 32 points.

The course of the match

Arsenal immediately put pressure on Leeds from the first minute of the game. However, the meeting of the visiting defense made it difficult for the hosts.

The first real opportunity came from Leeds. In the 12th minute, Patrick Bamford was able to head Jack Harrison’s ball into the upper left corner of Arsenal’s goal. However, Bernd Leno was able to ignore it.

A minute later, Arsenal could take the lead. Aubameyang can score a goal with a right-footed shot from the side of the Leeds box. It scores 1-0 for Arsenal.

In the 35th minute, Liam Cooper violated Bukayo Saka in the penalty area. Referee Stuart Attwell had flagged the spot, but it was later checked by the VAR and there was no visible foul. Penalties awarded to Arsenal.

Arsenal received a real penalty in the 40th minute. Goalkeeper Illan Meslier made a mistake by knocking Bukayo Saka down in the penalty area. Aubameyang advanced to be the executor, and could double the score to 2-0.

In the final minutes of the first half, Arsenal could add one more goal. Hector Bellerin was able to break Meslier’s goal with a shot from a narrow angle to the right of the Leeds penalty area. The score of 3-0 closed the first half for Arsenal’s lead over Leeds.

Arsenal started the second half brilliantly again. Just a minute later, Aubameyang can join in on the Gunners’ goals.

Using Emile Smith-Rowe’s pass, Aubameyang was able to head his ball into Leeds’ goal. Score 4-0 for Arsenal at the start of the second half.

Leeds pressed in the 49th minute. Rapinha shot with his right from outside the area, but the ball was pushed by Leno.

Continuing to press, Leeds could reduce the position in the 58th minute. Pascal Struijk can head a corner soccer ball from Rapinha and change the score to 1-4. Leeds is still behind.

In the 68th minute, Leeds scored the second goal. Helder Costa, who had just entered the second half, was able to complete the attack that was built with the cooperation of Rapinhha and Tyler Roberts.

Roberts’s attractive bait was tricked by Costa in the Arsenal goal. The score is 2-4, Leeds only need two more goals to catch up.

Leeds began to feel confident after scoring their second goal. Patrick Bamford exerted the pressure, but the English forward was easily stopped by Arsenal’s rear.

In the 76th minute, Arsenal almost scored their fifth goal. Aubameyang starts from outside the penalty area, but only hits the crossbar.

After that, the game was quite difficult. The two teams presented minimal opportunities, where Leeds’ efforts to catch up could always break Arsenal’s rear.

Until the match was dissolved, the score was 4-2 unchanged. Arsenal can beat Leeds United, where Aubameyang scored a hat-trick.
