KOMPAS.com – Although he will only be on duty for six days, Akhyar Nasution continues to be appointed as the definitive mayor of Medan.

The inauguration was held at the North Sumatra Governor’s Office on Thursday afternoon (11/2/2021).

Akhyar was appointed directly by the Governor of North Sumatra, Edy Rahmayadi.

In his comments, Edy said that Akhyar had been registered as mayor of Medan even though his term was only six days.

According to Edy, this drive will become history for Akhyar.

Edy said that because the position of mayor is a trust of the people, he instructed Akhyar to carry out his leadership with sincerity and sincerity.

Not forgetting that Edy also prayed, congratulated and thanked Akhyar Nasution for his devotion to the country, especially Kota Medan.

The speech for Akhyar to be appointed the final mayor of Medan was proposed by the DPRD of Medan to the Minister of the Interior through the Governor of North Sumatra, Edy Rahmayadi.

Before making a proposal, DPR members held a plenary meeting chaired by the head of the Medan DPRD, Hasyim, to arrest Dzulmi Eldin, who was involved in a corruption case while serving as mayor of Medan.

To the members of Medan DPRD, Akhyar thanked him for holding a plenary meeting to carry out governance in accordance with the law.

Although his tenure lasted less than a week, Akhyar said he was ready to fulfill his duties as the final mayor.

Akhyar Nasution will serve as Mayor of Medan from February 11-17, 2021.
