JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The acting director of DKI Jakarta’s Creative Economy and Tourism Agency, Gumilar Ekalaya, was stabbed by a man with the initials RH at his office in Mampang Prapatan, South Jakarta, on Wednesday (10/2/2021).

The Gumilar stabbing incident took place on the second floor of DKI Jakarta’s Creative Economy and Tourism Office and was caught on CCTV.

After talking for a while, RH stood up. Gumilar was also seen standing.

When she was standing, RH was seen reaching into her bag. So, RH pulled out a knife and tried to stab Gumilar.

Gumilar appeared to have retreated to avoid RH’s stabbing attempt. RH continues to stab Gumilar.

RH is then seen swinging the knife at Gumilar’s feet. Meanwhile, the person on the other sofa stood up and ran towards Gumilar.

The person is standing in between Gumilar and RH. The guy looks like he wants to kick RH.

RH then goes downstairs. The atmosphere on the second floor became even more crowded after RH stabbed Gumilar.

South Jakarta Police Chief Kombes Azis Andriansyah said the Gumilar stabbing incident began when the perpetrator with the initials RH arrived at the Jakarta Office of Creative Economy and Tourism. RH met Gumilar with the aim of speaking with Gumilar.

“When the perpetrator met with the acting director (at) the Tourist Office on the second floor, the perpetrator pulled out a knife that he carried in his bag, then stabbed the acting director of the Tourist Office in the upper thigh.” Azis said when confirmed, Wednesday afternoon.

RH then intends to flee after stabbing Gumilar. A security guard caught RH carrying a knife and was later stabbed by RH.

“Security (victim 2) saw the perpetrator with a knife and immediately shooed him away, but the perpetrator stabbed security personnel (victim 2) in the upper left chest,” Azis said.

The security guard later suffered a chest wound. Then another security guard helped catch RH.

“Then other security personnel came to help and contact the police, and then the perpetrator was arrested,” Azis said.

Currently, the police are conducting an autopsy on the victim, namely Gumilar and security guards from the Jakarta Office of Tourism and Creative Economy.

The police also questioned witnesses to the stabbing. The police also examined and obtained evidence related to the stabbing of Gumilar and the security guard.

The head of the Industry Division of DKI Jakarta’s Creative Economy and Tourism Office, Bambang Ismadi, said that Gumilar suffered a stab wound in the thigh two centimeters deep.

As a result of the right puncture, Gumilar received stitches on the wound.

Bambang confirmed that Gumilar’s condition is stable.

“In general (Gumilar’s condition) is healthy. In fact, he has plans to return to office. But I think it is canceled,” Bambang said.

“Alhamdulillah, not bad. The information (Gumilar) has returned from the hospital,” added Bambang.
