Jakarta, CNN Indonesia –
Ministry of Communication and Informatics (Kominfo) claims to block the TikTok Cash site, which promises money after watching videos on the platform Tik Tok.
“Kominfo has blocked the site tiktokecash.com. TikTok Cash’s social networks are also in the process of being blocked,” said Kominfo Ministry spokesman Dedy Permadi, citing Between, Wednesday (2/10).
Kominfo said the reason for the blockade was “an electronic transaction that violates the law.”
The site Tiktokecash.com is still accessible this afternoon, the site administrator in a notification that appears on the home page said they had “fake news / attacks” after gaining popularity.
The announcement, on behalf of TikTok Cash Asia Pacific, indicated that it was coordinating with the police in this case.
The site TikTok Cash offers users some money after watching videos on the short video platform TikTok.
The site claims to be a platform “that connects Tiktok users to the celebrity internet economy.”
Before receiving money, Internet users must register with the site, including cell phone number and email address.
TikTok Cash offers membership packages as “temporary workers” for Rp. 89,000 with a validity period of eight days for “general manager” for Rp 49,999,000 valid for 365 days.
TikTok Indonesia’s chief communication officer Catherine Siswoyo confirmed that the site is not affiliated with the TikTok platform.
“Recently, we learned that there is a website that uses the TikTok name and requests money from users. This website is not affiliated in any way with TikTok. We will not ask or ask for money,” Catherine said Between.
TikTok asks its users to be wary of such offers.
