Jakarta, CNN Indonesia –

The National Police explained that the suspect was Soni Ernata alias Ustaz Maaher At-Tahuwailibi still healthy when he first came into custody.

This was said to be in response to criticism by KPK investigator Novel Baswedan regarding Maaher’s arrest when he was ill.

“When he was arrested he was not ill. At the beginning of his detention, he was not ill,” the head of the Public Information Office of the Police (Karopenmas), Brigadier General Rusdi Hartono, told reporters at the headquarters on Tuesday. Jakarta Police Station (9/2).

He explained that Maaher only complained of illness after serving his detention. That too, he said, had received treatment from a doctor at the Police Hospital.

According to Rusdi, when he was returned to the detention center (Rutan), Maaher was declared cured.

Considering that Maaher had received treatment from a doctor at the National Police Hospital, Kramat Jati, her group did not deliver the delivery to another hospital.

Previously, the family wanted Maaher to be taken to Ummi Hospital, Bogor. Maaher’s lawyer, Djuju Purwantara, said that prison guards did not approve of his client’s treatment at the hospital, who had also treated FPI leader Rizieq Shihab.

The delivery request, he said, had already been made several times. Finally, the request for dismissal was filed after Maaher was transferred to the AGO.

“Three days ago he was transferred [kasusnya], delegated to the prosecution. And on Thursday I sent a letter on behalf of the lawyer. I ask the person in question to ask for their sick condition to return to Ummi Hospital, “Djuju said when contacted on Monday (8/2).

According to Rusdi, treatment at the police hospital has proven its ability and can treat Maaher for his illness.

“In the Hospital of the National Police it already exists. In addition, there are prisoners like this, there is a special room for special handling and so [RS] Umm, not necessarily, “he argued.

Previously, the novel assessed that Maaher should not be detained when sick. He also assessed that the police officers acted excessively.

Previously, Inspector General Argo Yuwono, Chief of Public Relations of the National Police, was reluctant to reveal Maaher’s illness because it was related to the good name of the deceased.

“I cannot convey what the pain is, because this is a sensitive pain, this could be related to the good name of the deceased,” he said, in Jakarta, on Tuesday (2/9).

Maaher himself is a suspect suspected of insulting Habib Lutfhi through his social media accounts. He was charged under article 45 paragraph (2) in conjunction with article 28 paragraph (2) of the Information and Electronic Transactions Act (ITE) with a maximum threat of six years in prison.
