Jakarta, CNN Indonesia –
Spokesperson for the Coordinating Minister of Maritime Affairs and Investments (Menko Marves) Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, Jodi Mahardi, straightened out the statement by stating that almost two million pieces of data on Covid-19 cases had not been recorded.
According to him, the two million pieces of data were not covered from positive cases of Covid-19, but from negative cases that had not been reported.
According to him, this data has not been recorded because many laboratories tend to report positive cases in advance so that they can receive immediate treatment until now.
“Actually, it is not 2 million positive cases that have not been presented, but there are many negative test results that take time to be reported by the laboratory. Due to the large number of tests and limited staff, the Labs tend to report positive results first so they can be followed up immediately, “Jodi said in her statement on Saturday (2/6).
In a virtual discussion with epidemiologists on Thursday (2/4), Luhut said that “almost two million pieces of data or maybe more have not been published.entry“in national data on pandemic management.
Jodi explained that various parties had misunderstood the meaning of Luhut’s statement. According to him, what Luhut meant by the statement was that the two million pieces of data would make a number positivity rate decreased when it was registered.
“So when the data is integrated and entered, the numbers positivity rate it will also decrease because there is a lot of negative case data that is late in being reported in advance, “Jodi said.
Even so, he admitted, data integration was still a problem in handling Covid-19. According to him, Luhut continues to foster the realization of big health data that accommodates and integrates various sources of health data, such as electronic medical records, BPJS Kesehatan, to vaccines in the management of Covid-19.
“In fact, this is a common task. But Coordinating Minister Luhut sees this pandemic as the right impetus for the government to improve our database system, not only in the health sector, but also in others so that we can have a good data management system, “Jodi said.
