It rained a lot for almost 10 hours that made the city red Semarang, Central Java made a hint Ahmad Yani International Airport flooded flood. As a result, the airport was temporarily closed.
The airport manager issues a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) Number: B0177 / 21 NOTAMN regarding RWY 13/31 closed. The warning stated that the airport would temporarily not operate until 09.00 WIB.
“There is flooding in some parts of the runaway, we continue to dry them up with 54 pumping units,” said Ahmad Yani Airport stakeholder relations manager Heri Trisno Wibowo.
Due to flooding in the fugitive, the Garuda Indonesia GA 232 aircraft for Jakarta-Semarang was diverted to Juanda Airport, Surabaya because the fugitive was still in the drying process.
So far there is no further information on whether the airport has reopened or not.
