Depok’s Deputy Mayor Tested Positive for Covid-19 Two Weeks After Vaccination

DEPOK, KOMPAS.com – Depok Deputy Mayor Pradi Supriatna tested positive for Covid-19 after about two weeks of receiving the Covid-19 vaccine.

Dadang Wihana, spokesman for the Covid-19 Management Working Group for the city of Depok, said Pradi was known to have had a fever on January 28, 2021, when he was about to be vaccinated for the second time.

“When the second vaccination was to be on January 28, 2021, he had a fever so he could not do the second vaccination,” Dadang said in a written statement on Sunday (1/31/2021).

Dadang said, Pradi had a fever for five days and underwent swab test on Friday (1/29/2021).

“And the results were known on Saturday with positive results for Covid-19,” Dadang said.

Now Pradi is being treated at the Regional General Hospital in the city of Depok.

Dadang explained that even though he was exposed to Covid-19, Pradi’s condition was stable.

“It should also be noted that it is true that the first Covid-19 vaccine had already been administered on January 14, 2021,” Dadang said.

He then asked the public to pray that Pradi would recover from his exposure to Covid-19.

“We pray that he will recover quickly,” Dadang said.
