BOGOR DISTRICT, KOMPAS.com – An atmosphere of grief engulfed the family home as the body of Sriwijaya Air SJ 182 pilot Captain Afwan arrived at Bumi Cibinong Endah Housing, Bogor Regency, West Java, on Saturday (1/30/2021) at 10 a.m. : 21 WIB.
The body of Captain Afwan was transported by an ambulance, which was closely guarded by the police. Upon arriving at the funeral home, two people were seen exiting the ambulance with a photo of Captain Afwan.
The pilot’s body was received and honored by various relatives and representatives of the Sriwijaya Air airline.
The family burst into tears when the coffin was lowered from the ambulance. At that moment, the rain fell to make the atmosphere of pain feel even more.
“We want to thank everyone who has taken care of the body of Captain Afwan, from the search at sea to the identification,” said the family representative, Sjafzan Badar, representing the family in front of the mourners.

Sjafzan said that during his lifetime, the captain often became an imam at the mosque.
“He often gave da’wah and advice to his son and nephew. We lost him to people we are proud of. Their BCE citizens are often imams and they used to be the head of DKM Ad-daulah,” he said.
Sjafzan said that Hajj Afwan Zamzami or his best friend Afwan was the fourth of five siblings. He was born on February 26, 1966 and is currently 55 years old.
Captain Afwan left behind a wife named Pipit Rachimawati (35) and three daughters, namely Syahirah Rosfita (14), Aisyah Humaira (8) and Syafiah Rahima (6).
Sjafzan thanked everyone who participated in helping to handle the remains.
“We are sorry if something goes wrong and if you have debts, you can come to us,” he said.
