Member of the Council of Regional Representatives (DPD) of the Republic of Indonesia of Papua, Filep Wamafma requested an alleged action racism which was carried out by the Hanura Party politician Ambroncius Nababan against the former Komnas commissioner HAM Natalius Pigai prosecuted by law.
According to him, Ambroncius must be suspected of having violated Law Number 40 of 2008 on the Elimination of Racial and Ethnic Discrimination.
“I ask the state to take firm action immediately against Ambroncius IM Nababan because he has been racist. This is not a joke. Do not try to make embers of fire,” Filep said. CNNIndonesia.com, Monday (1/25).
He continued, the State must also act immediately to respond to the alleged racism against this Pigai. He admitted that he was concerned that social unrest and rejection by the Papuan people would occur when addressing this case, as in the previous case of racism in Surabaya.
“This is the time for the state to show its position to the entire Indonesian people. Anyone who violates the law must be dealt with immediately. Furthermore, Ambroncius’ attitude is beyond reasonable limits,” Filep said.
Pigai received an alleged racial treatment. Pigai uploaded a screenshot of racial content on Ambroncius Nababan’s Facebook account. In it, Natalius’ photo is juxtaposed with a photo of a gorilla along with comments related to vaccination.
“Edodoeee pace. Your vaccine is not a sinovac rhythm, but you said it was the rabies vaccine,” Ambroncius Nababan’s account wrote in a photo uploaded to his Twitter account @ NataliusPigai2 on Sunday (1/24).
In response, the West Papua National Youth Committee (KNPI) reported Ambroncius to the West Papua Police about the racial accusations against Pigai.
Head of the West Papua Police Public Relations Division Kombes Adam Erwindi, the report was prepared by West Papua National Police Chairman Sius Dowansiba. The report is registered as Number / LP / 17 / I / 2021 / West Papua.
“This report was made on Monday (1/25) around 1:46 PM WIT at the West Papua Police SPKT,” Adam said in an official statement on Monday (1/25).
Adam said the report would get the attention and attention of the Papua Police. He said the alleged racial profiling had been coordinated with the director of special crimes, Kombes Romylus Tamtelahitu.
