TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – The legal process between the families of the victims of the Lion Air JT-610 accident and the US aircraft manufacturer, Boeing, is complete. The victim’s family received compensation from Boeing.
Suyarso, the family of the victims of the Lion Air JT-610 aircraft, confirmed Boeing’s compensation agreement. According to Suyarso, with the help of attorney C. Priaardanto from the Danto & Tomi & Rekan law firm, she received much greater compensation for her son’s death.
Suyarso is now using the compensation fund for various purposes, including channeling some to social donor organizations. “Even for the education of his younger brother (the victim’s brother),” he said in Jakarta on Saturday, January 22, 2022.
In October 2018, a Lion Air plane with a Boeing 737 Max 8 crashed in the waters off Karawang, West Java. This incident triggered a lawsuit against the victims’ families against Boeing.
Priaardanto said the legal process between his client and the US aircraft manufacturer Boeing had been completed. “There are 46 families, it has been resolved,” Priaardanto said.
Priaardanto accompanied the families of the victims along with international aviation lawyer Charles Herrmann of Herrmann Law Group in the United States.
