Sherina’s reprimand of Raffi Ahmad meeting without a mask ends a page of apologies

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The cyberspace world was stunned by photos of Raffi Ahmad and several other artists without masks while keeping their distance at an event.

In photos circulating on social media, Raffi appears to be taking photos with Nagita Slavina, Gading Marten, Sean Gelael, and Anya Geraldine.

The photo became a hot topic of discussion to the point of garnering criticism from citizens.

The reason is that Raffi was one of the first people in Indonesia to be vaccinated against Covid-19 with President Joko Widodo and state officials, on Wednesday (1/13/2021).

Not only netizens who harshly criticized Nagita Slavina’s husband, artist and singer Sherina Munaf, they also reprimanded Raffi through her social media account.

Sherina scolds Raffi

Sherina understands that Raffi was chosen as the recipient of the first vaccine because he was alone public figure and influence with a large number of followers.

Therefore, Raffi should have set a good example by not wandering around after receiving vaccinations.

“You were chosen at the beginning of the vaccine because you had a large following. For the same reason, set a good example below.” Sherina wrote on her Twitter account.

Sherina not only reprimanded through her Twitter account, but also sent a similar reprimand through Instagram Story uploads and by tagging Raffi’s Instagram account.

Clarification and apology from Raffi

After receiving criticism, Raffi provided a clarification and explanation about the reasons why he did not use a mask in the viral photo through a video uploaded to his Instagram account.

Raffi said the incident happened after he finished eating. That is why he does not wear a mask.

“So last night it was not in a public place, but in the private home of one of my friends’ parents. That was before entering the protocol (prevention of Covid-19),” said Raffi.

“But it fits inside, because I eat, I don’t wear a mask and I take a picture,” he continued.

The owner of the RANS Entertainment production house apologized to the President of Indonesia, Joko Widodo and the entire Indonesian people for the incident.

“I deeply apologize to the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Mr. @jokowi, to the Presidential Secretariat, KPCPEN, and also to the entire Indonesian people for this incident,” Raffi said.

On the same occasion, the presenter of the Okay Bos event invited people to increasingly comply with the 3M Movement to reduce the spread of Covid-19.

Sherina’s answer

Sherina Munaf appreciates the clarifications and apologies of Raffi Ahmad uploaded to Instagram.

“Clarification from Raffi. Thank you! Let’s be more aware of existing health protocols / guidelines, let’s remind each other to reduce transmission rate.” Sherina wrote.

Movie star Sherina Adventure also asked netizens to remind her if she really made a mistake as Raffi Ahmad.

“Feel free to call me in public if you think I’m wrong. So the public can learn from our mistakes,” he continued.
