Burnley –
Manchester United’s hard work against Burnley resulted in three points. Red Devils can go home with a big smile.
Burnley vs Man United at Turf Moor, Wednesday (1/13/2021) at the morning WIB, was fierce. The two teams took turns attacking each other in the first half, but had to finish goalless until half-time.
MU performed better in the second half. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team repeatedly launched attacks on Burnley’s defense.
The deadlock for Manchester United just exploded in the 71st minute. Paul Pogba scored a successful volley to lead the Red Devils to a 1-0 victory.
These results bring MU to the top of the Premier League rankings with 36 points. This means that MU managed to displace Liverpool, which accumulated 33 points.
“I’m very happy, of course. Every time you get the three points, you’re happy. We have to fight for that and we did it,” Man United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer told the BBC.
“The goals were incredible, great execution and style. Paul Pogba played really well tonight. It would be easier for us to get the second goal, but we didn’t get it easily,” he continued.
Man United broke Burnley’s goal in the 35th minute. Luke Shaw’s cross was followed by Harry Maguire’s header. The goal was later disallowed after Maguire fouled Erik Pieters as he jumped to find the ball.
“Harry Maguire’s goal was great and I understand the players were angry, but I had to calm them down in the first half,” Solskjaer revealed.
“I did not see the foul, but it was just when the referee went to see it. The goal was ruled out, it was a mistake, we have to be honest,” he said.
