Member of Commission III DPR RI of the Faction of the National Awakening Party (PKB) Jazilul Fawaid stated that President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has elected the Head of the Criminal Investigation Agency (Kabareskrim) of the National Police, Commissioner General (Komjen) Listyo Sigit Prabowo be the only candidate for Chief of the Indonesian National Police (Kapolri) that Jokowi will propose to DPR.
According to him, Listyo was the name chosen among the five names recommended by the National Police Commission (Kompolnas) in relation to the name of the candidate for chief of police to replace General Idham Azis.
“God willing, a name. Mr. Listyo Sigit Prabowo is a strong and worthy candidate,” Jazilul said when confirmed. CNNIndonesia.com, Monday (1/11).
However, the MPR RI vice president admitted that his statement was not intended to precede God’s destiny or the president’s orders.
“Once again, I convey this without pretending to precede the destiny of God and the decree of the President,” he said.
He also stated that the DPR has not received to date a presidential letter (surpres) regarding the replacement of the candidate for the National Police. Jazilul predicted that Jokowi would only send presidential alternates to the DPR on Wednesday Wage, according to the Javanese calendar, or on January 13.
According to him, Wednesday Wage is a good time to calculate Javanese culture.
“Wage’s Wednesday count is better, Neptune is eleven. Wednesday’s count is seven, and Wage’s number four adds up to number 11. That’s Javanese science, knowledge of the title comes from natural and human habits,” said the vice president of PKB.

Likewise, the vice president of the DPR, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, stated that his agency had not received a presidential deputy from Jokowi on the candidate for head of the National Police until Monday (1/11).
“To this day, the DPR has not received a letter from the president regarding a candidate for head of the National Police,” Dasco told reporters at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta on Monday (11/1) .
He stated that the DPR is in a position to wait for a presidential alternate with respect to the current candidate for the National Police. According to him, the DPR will process the presidential suspension according to the applicable mechanism if it has been presented by Jokowi.
Dasco also stressed that his party believes Jokowi will consider Idham’s retirement, which falls on January 25, 2021.
“There are rules about how many days. Of course, the letter will arrive before the expiration date, hopefully,” Dasco said.
Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Mahfud MD revealed that Kompolnas proposed five names of three-star generals, also known as the rank of commissioner general (commander) to Jokowi as Idham’s replacement.
In addition to Listyo, the four commanders-in-chief of police proposed by Kompolnas are Deputy Police Chief Komjen Gatot Eddy Pramono, BNPT Chief Komjen Boy Rafli Amar, Kabaharkam Komjen Agus Andrianto and Kalemdikpol Komjen Arief Sulistyanto.
