The head of the Public Information Office (Karopemas) of the Public Relations Division of the National Police, Brigadier General Rusdi Hartono, declared the body of Okky Bisma, the victim of the plane. Sriwijaya Air SJ 182 which fell, immediately handed over to the family.
“We have a process (of return), what is clear is that the families of the victims already know all that, we have informed them, while the process is underway we will hand them over to the family,” Rusdi said at a press conference in the Kramat Jati Police Hospital, Jakarta, on Monday (11/1).
On the same occasion, the Head of the Inafis Center of the National Police, Brigadier General Hudi Suryanto, explained Okky’s identification process.
“As for the body bag we received, the pusinafis identified what we got as a body part, in the form of a right hand complete with fingers. So that makes it easier for us,” Hudi said.
Hudi said his party immediately matched the handprints using the Inafis device that was connected to the database at Dukcapil and gave the names of the candidates.
“The candidates that we examined one by one, it turned out that after verifying the manifest data, the name Okky Bisma was also on the list of manifest number 4,” he said.
To guarantee the results, Hudi said, Okky’s e-KTP fingerprint data was taken and compared with the fingerprint data obtained from these body parts.
“The results turned out to be identical, we found 12 points of similarity, and that’s enough to confirm that this person is the same person,” he said.
Okky Bisma became the first identified victim of Sriwijaya Air SJ 182. Okky works as an airline crew. Currently, the National Police Hospital has collected 53 samples of ID from victims’ relatives and 17 body bags.
