WhatsApp clarification

Regarding the existence of this new privacy policy, WhatsApp provides a clarification.

Launching Kompas Tekno Saturday (9/1/2021) WhatsApp explained that it has shared limited data with Facebook in the backend area since 2016.

Kominfo Minister Johnny Plate said the call was related to the Personal Data Protection Law Plan (PDP Bill).

Johny said that one of the fundamental principles of the PDP bill was the use of personal data that had to be approved by the owner of the data.
